I just bought a vintage polysynth: a Roland Jx3p.

I’ve been eyeing this one for years and finally bought one yesterday 😀

Now, why did I spend money on a keyboard from 1983?

Because they don’t make machines like these anymore. You have to hear it before you believe it, but the low end is so incredibly fat, it's insane! (demo’s coming soon 🙂)

I’m all for plugins; I use them all the time, but there’s something about the low-end of analog synths that just can’t be replicated with software.

I mean, this keyboard is very limited compared to today’s standards. It doesn’t even have Velocity!

Yet it does have a 128-step polyphonic sequencer with overdubbing options, which is pretty innovative for the time and a very inspiring tool to play around with.

So if you ever find one for a good price, grab one while you can 🙂
